PHBV — Polyhydroxybutyrate-co-Hydroxyvalerate Biodegradable Resin Pellets Supplier China | Marine Biodegradation
PHBV (Polyhydroxybutyrate-co-hydroxyvalerate, poly(3-hydroxybutyrate-co-3-hydroxyvalerate)) is a PHA copolymer that incorporates 3-hydroxyvalerate (3HV) monomer units into the PHB backbone. Increasing HV content progressively lowers the melting point, crystallinity, and stiffness, while improving flexibility, impact strength, and processing window.
PHBV is:
- 100% bio-based — produced by microbial fermentation
- Marine-biodegradable — TÜV OK Marine certified grades
- Industrially compostable — EN 13432 / ASTM D6400
- Home-compostable and soil-biodegradable
- In-vivo bioresorbable — FDA Master File available
- More flexible and tougher than PHB — 3–12% HV gives useful range
